Valens SA, a subsidiary of Eiffage Group, is a Brussels-based general contractor that specializes in civil engineering, renovation, restoration and environmental projects. It is active in all sectors of construction — from administrative and residential buildings, to shopping centers, hospitals, sports and leisure centers, and community facilities.
As part of the Marche-en-Famenne jail construction project, Valens SA implemented Efficy CRM in 2010 in order to extend its project management capabilities involving numerous stakeholders, partners and subcontractors.
Specifically, the company wanted to implement a central database for sharing documents, drawings and paperwork, such as RFPs and estimates. It wanted to consolidate this data, coordinate the work of contractors, and create a workflow mechanism for continuously tracking a project’s phases from beginning to end. The company runs Efficy CRM on its own premises. The solution is integrated with the company’s Microsoft and Oracle environment, and is currently being used by 16 on-site users – in addition to10 itinerant workers.
Efficy CRM’s web interface is compatible with all browsers and operating systems. This capability is particularly helpful when it comes to equipping field workers with mobile technology.
Typically, builders often work on remote construction sites with scarce wireless coverage. The solution enables allows them to work in the field on “local databases”. When they return to an area of coverage, the data is then automatically synchronized with Efficy CRM’s central database.
