Citelum, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, has been supporting local authorities for 26 years in the lighting of cities and the development of “connected urban” equipment.

Citelum offers a wide range of services (public lighting, traffic lights, vehicle charging stations, video protection cameras, access terminals, air quality sensors, etc.) to meet the specific challenges of local authorities and their development.

The company is also present on private markets with an offer of electrical engineering services (including indoor lighting).

The project's context

One year ago, Frédéric Courault joined Citelum as Managing Director for France. His objective was to develop the company’s growth and pass the 100 million turnover mark.

When I arrived at Citelum, we didn’t have the tools to effectively manage customer relations and the commercial activity of our teams. It was difficult to establish consolidated indicators of our performance, we lacked visibility on our response to calls for tenders, and we had difficulty evaluating our transformation rate… We were sorely lacking in tools to respond to the company’s most crucial challenge.

Citelum then started looking for a CRM to support and structure its national business development.

After consulting with the teams, defining the objectives and writing the specifications, the company began consulting with two market players before choosing Efficy CRM.

After comparing with one of the market leaders, we chose to trust the Efficy teams. We quickly identified a match between Efficy’s work habits and companies of our size. The much more competitive price and the dual competence of editor and integrator with cost control and a fully integrated service finally convinced us.

95 users deployed in 60 days during containment!

After validation of the project in March 2020, Citelum wants to quickly begin the launch of the project. “The goal was not to rush, but we wanted to move quickly and avoid losing several months at each stage of the project. On March 17, 2020, the Covid 19 crisis hit and the imposed lockdown stopped almost all the company’s activities. At the same time, the Efficy teams suggested that Citelum take advantage of this “calm” period to deploy the CRM project.

“My pre-COVID fear was that I would end up with users who were not involved due to a lack of time in the different phases of the deployment. We were afraid that we would not be able to involve people in depth to make the project a success. The choice of deploying during a period of confinement appeared to be a very good “shooting window”, with an available managerial line and mobilized employees we were able to carry out the preparation, testing and training phase in two and a half months, all from a distance!”

Simple and quick deployment

The Efficy project team quickly adapted to maintain remote project management with the Citelum teams.

“I found the Efficy service to be very professional. The project manager has a very good knowledge of the tool and was able to guide us in our thinking and the definition of our processes. The support of expertise between the different Efficy contacts and the responsiveness of all the teams translates into a willingness to support the customer that is very much appreciated.”

A successful gamble for Citelum’s teams, who are now ready to begin the recovery with a CRM integrated into the company’s processes. A collaborative and mobile platform, centralization of company knowledge, information sharing and performance management to support Citelum’s growth tomorrow!
